Hi, this is Shohei Nishimoto. 

Finally we've completed all of the program. Feel so sad cause precious experiments which make me fun, awkward, happy, lonely and excited repeated everyday. Of cause I've never been. I appreciate all of incident through the program. Also I have to appreciate to my parents, they gave me such a wonderful chance to experience. Identically a lot of people which aren't only UCI students or each host family but also people who related to prepare for the program gave us a chance. I can't think about the future didn't participate the program, so It has too big meaning for me, for us. Was so great that I want to study abroad again. I want to compose my life with the sequences of things will never experience after them. 

Also it's very important to connect with people who are from other country and almost same years old. I believe it make my future enrich.

Thank you for every people who related the program. I love them and the program.

Last Letter

Hello! I'm Yuya Tojo.

Today, We visited to Huntington Beach. We saw very beautiful sunset. I was moved. I took some pictures of sunset, But l forgot to take the pictures with my phone. So, I can't show you the view now.

When I'm looking at the sunset that is sinking, I became sad because I felt not only the end of day, but also the end of this study and training program.

We acted without assistant teacher or tour conductor for three weeks in the US.

It was the first time for me to travel abroad, and I was very weak in English. So before we left Japan, I was worrying that I can't do anything.

But, now, I think it's good thing because we should do ourselves when we get trouble.

I studied English and world wide culture very much in the US. It's very excited. I want to say "thank you" to the people concerned.

Daichi - University of California, Irvine

Hey what's up guys?

This is Daichi.

I have stayed here for only 3 weeks.

It’s not a long time, but I had many great experiences here.

I stayed with my host family in Irvine.

They and I like technology very much, so we talked about it very much.

My homestay was fun and good for me to practice English in conversation.

In class, I talked with students from many foreign countries: Brazil, Colombia, Korea, China ,Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

My favorite time was to have lunch with them because I would get to know about foreign cultures.

I went to a Japanese restaurant with my classmates, and I explained about Japanese food.

It’s nice to practice English and I found that I should know more about Japanese culture, so I may tell others.

Also, I joined international activities and talked with UCI students.

They are kind and friendly, so I enjoyed activities very much.

I enjoyed Universal Studios with UCI students.

It was a day of English for a whole day, so it was hard, but it was so exciting.

I made a lot of new friends here.

Although they're different ages, from different countries, have different cultures and different backgrounds, we can be friends through English and open minds.

I’m going to keep in touch my new friends and brush up on my English. 

I hope our friendships will last forever!

On our final day in the US, we went to Huntington Beach to watch a beautiful sunset.
The sun finished setting, and our stay in the US are over.

However, we're going to keep studying English hard.

Hi,I'm Takumi.

During my stay,I  had a great time!!
And I had a lot of experience.
It's not only English.

First,in a class there are students fron many foreign countries.
So I talked with them about food,culture,costom and more.
It was so precious time for me.
I'm glad I could spend such a nice time with them and meet them.

Second,I did a homestay.
My hostfamily was always kind to me.
I spend a lot of time with them.
For example,lunch,dinner,exercise in a park,BBQ party and more.
The days which I spend with them were so excellent.

Finally,about my English.
Before I come here,I think I am good at English a little.
But it's only in Japan.So I think I should learn English more.
But to learn English is not most important to talk with people in English.
The most important thing is a mind.
If you try to speak English,your English will be better.
But If you don't try,.it will not be good.
It's a easy thing.But it's difficult.
So I will try to use English anytime,and I'll try anything in Japan.

Time Flies

Hello everyone!! This is Yusuke.

     This is my final weblog. So I'm a little bit sad. Time flies quickly. We'll depart for Japan tomorrow.

     During my stay in Irvine, I had a really enjoyable time!!! My host family is very kind to me. Everyday, l eat delicious dinner and talk a lot.

     In my class, my teachers are really friendly and energetic!! Before this, I had few opportunities to study English in English. So, everything is quite new and fresh experience for me! I could internalize a lot of things from my class!!!

     Also, l had many activities!!!! I went to DisneyLand, Universal Studio, Hollywood……took surfing lessons……
There're just a little of part!! Everything is enjoyable and exciting!!!!

     Anyway, l really wanna say thank you to my host family, my teachers, classmates and everyone who l met in lrvine!!!!  

     This is all the speech l gave at the graduation celemony, and what I wanna say through this program.

     I really gratitude for wonderful　encounters!!!!!

     I keep studying English and become an engineer who succeeds all around the world!!!

Hello~! This is Kazuki.
It is final blog.

Now, 7:55am at September 20th.
Time flies like an arrow, today is final day in UCI training.
I try to write in English with my friend which is translator!



I could learn a lot of something in this overseas study.

Before I participate in this, I liked English little bit.
Because human speaking is English is very cool.
But I was poor at English.

After I participate in this, I hated English several time.
Because I couldn't tell my mind.
Cannot speak, cannot listen, cannot think of topic, and cannot use Japanese.
I experienced this environment at first.

But now, I like English.
Because English has especial expression which Japanese cannot express.
So I wanna study English more.
Although I enjoy speaking in English, I wanna tell my mind and receive more more more!

At final, I could make really many friends!
I could make a best friend. Only 3 weeks!
From now, I should write in English on Facebook...
It is worry which I am glad!



I wanna learn English and visit many different countries.
Someday, I wanna come back to Irvine. I think.

Shohei - it getting finish

Hi, this is Shohei Nishimoto.

Finally, the last day is coming. We graduated the UCI 4-weeks program. I remember I was suffered from listening. However I've felt I'm accustomed to listening after 1&a half week past. Also Mel made me confident that she told me that now I don't need to talk slowly to you.
However I don't think it's just enough. I should have more vocabrary, should know about expression, should use part of sentences correctly, want to be able to express in other words, should use preposition correctly and want to know more slangs. Just kidding.

Also I went to Target which you can buy anything like a IEON of Japan. I bought some souvenirs for my friends. Just look forward.

In today's  afternoon, we went to the welcome ceremony festival for new students of UCI. It was toooooo big. It uses too big mass of the school. We could see the performance of Jay, our friend of UCI. All American students dance confidently and smoothly. In addition all of the ladies make themslves up stronger than Japan, so it looks dinamic and beautiful. Extremely cool. I thought that I gonna dance on Kosen festival. I don't know it is honest.

I had graduation today.
I gave a speech in English in graduation.
I was a little nervous, but I did it very well.

I'm missing everything of the US.
I made many new friends from many countries.
I'm going to keep in touch them on Facebook or something.
English and technology can connect people around the world.
That's why I study both of them.

5M 東條です。

昨日はアメリカでの最後の日曜日。私はLaguna Beachにいきました。家から最寄りのバス停まで徒歩25分。もうすっかりなれた道となりましたが、いつもより天気がよく、日差しが強く感じられてバス停につく頃にはアメリカに来て初めて汗をかいた気がしました。

バスに乗り、山間部を通ってついに目的のビーチへ……

しかし、残念ながらビーチは霧に覆われていました。

元々Laguna beach付近は天気がいい日が少ないという話は聞いていたのですが、ここまで悪いとは思いませんでした。

とはいえビーチ周辺には、アートギャラリーや、おしゃれな雑貨屋がたくさんあり、ビーチそのものも他のビーチと違って岩場や崖が多く、魅力的でした。

今日は、最後の授業と卒業式がありました。研修が終わってしまうさびしさを感じています。この三週間で、これまで苦手意識のあった英語としっかり向き合うことが出来ました。当然この短期間で英語がペラペラ話せるようになった訳ではないですが、様々な国な人と色んな話をして、異文化や外国における日本文化を感じることが出来ました。また、これからちゃんと英語も学びたいとも思えた研修でした。

明日が実質の最終日。夕方にHuntington beach に行く予定です。明日は天気が良くないそうですが、果たしてきれいな夕焼けは見れるのか？
次回、その模様をお伝えするつもりです。

みなさんこんにちは、黒崎です。

　アクティビティやツアーの事は他の人が書いてくれているので、他の話をしたいと思います。

　　　　飲食店での注文の話です(笑)　

　アメリカに来てから多くの店にいきました。そして、注文の際に日本ではあまり見られない事があります。名前を聞かれることです。日本では番号札などが主流ですが、こちらでは名前を聞いておき、料理ができたら大声で呼ばれます(笑)もちろん、番号札の店もあります。

　こんな感じで、レシートにも名前が残るところもあります。レシートが1つのお土産、みたいな感じです(笑)日本では無いですよね、自分の名前の入ったレシート(笑)

　ただ、この制度面白いんですが、日本人にとっては少し難しいです…名前が伝わらない…名前を聞かれたら必ず自分の名前のスペルを言わなければいけません(笑)また、呼ばれる際も…
　ヨースケ！、ユースキ！みたいな感じで呼ばれることもありました(笑)こちらの人に伝わりやすい名前を言うのもありかもしれません、イチローとか(笑)次はイチローって言ってみます(笑)



　この研修も残り4日、授業は明日で最後です。先生に頼まれ、Graduation Celemonyの時に前で少しだけ話すことになりました…緊張します(笑)

　次回が最後のブログです。この研修のまとめはそこでしたいと思います。

HAYASHI Kazuki-Los Angeles!

こんにちは〜！林です。
本日はアクティビティでロサンゼルスに行ってきました。
現在帰宅したての9月17日9:00pm前です。

かの有名なハリウッドの看板が臨める展望エリアから、ロスの街中、アウトレットまで学生に嬉しいロスのスポットを回りました。

ハリウッドの看板は今までテレビの中でしか見たことがなかったので、違和感といいますか、今更ながら感慨深いものがありました。

またハリウッドで有名なチャイニーズシアターの道の上にある手形足形、サインなどもしっかり目に焼き付けてきました！

明日は日曜日。本研修最後のウィークエンドです…！
午前は家でゆっくりしつつ、荷造りを進め、
午後は少しだけ遠出したいと思います。

次回はブログも担当が最後です。
本研修のまとめを簡単にさせていただきます。

Shohei - it was strong day

Hi, this is Shohei Nishimoto.

Yesterday, we went to balboa island, south of UCI & went to watch the Angels baseball game!

Balboa has few villas which can see great water port view from there. However I felt a bore because the villas weren't fascinating for me except the view. You always see almost same houses when you're walking along water edges.

Though, I ate frozen banana which is popular in balboa. It was exactly delicious, but the sandwich which I ate as lunch is Cheeper & more great than it. I couldn't help chipping to them cause of their good performance. 

At the night, we went to watch the Angels game. Our seat weren't near from the ground, but we could watch more forward. The seats attending the ground made me so exciting! Even I could see a HR from the most forward seat! Hoooo!!

Although it was my first time to see a baseball game on live, I think it will be the best game in my life.

昨日はメジャーリーグに行ってきました！

とにかく雰囲気が最高でした！！
応援、スタジアム、照明、人の活気など、とにかく日本では体感出来ない物で、いい経験になったと思います。

その中でも僕がいいなと思ったのはリスペクトの気持ちです！
昨日の試合はホームのエンジェルスが負けてしまいましたが、ファンの雰囲気からはそれは相手がいい試合だったから！という風に感じられました。
凄いものは例え相手でも凄い！という精神は見てていいなと思いました。
正直に敵でも凄いものは凄いって認められるのっていい事ですよね！

メジャー観戦

5M 東條です。

私は今、アメリカで3回目となる週末を謳歌しています。

今日のスケジュールは密度の高いものでした。金曜日にもかかわらず授業がなく、日中はニューポートビーチを散策しました。

広い砂浜、きれいな海、沢山のボートと雰囲気のある家々…… とにかくめっちゃいいとこでした。

その後、夜はメジャーリーグ観戦にいきました。

試合は完敗でしたが、アメリカならではの観客の盛上がり方、投手が投げる球の速さ、豪快なホームラン（ただし相手チーム）や思わず目を見張るほどの守備など、テレビでしか見れなかった光景を目の当たりにして、とても嬉しかったです。

Daichi - Go International

Hey what's up guys?
This is Daichi.

I made a decision to go international, and I had lunch with many foreigners and talked with them so much in these days.

Yesterday, I went to a Japanese restaurant with my classmates from Brazil and Colombia.
I explained about Japanese food to them.
That was so nice time to practice English and know about foreign cultures!

Also, today, I went to Balboa Island in class.
I walked around with my classmates from Brazil, Colombia, China and Korea.
It's so international time!

I put myself in situations that the Japanese in a group is only me in these days.

That's for to brush up on my English.

There's a nice environment for being international here, so I should use it.

I go international!

HAYASHI Kazuki-課題！

こんにちは！林です。
3週間のUCI研修もいよいよ終盤です…。
終わりに近づくと、日本人同士の間でも真面目な話が増えてきます（笑）


私は、英語を学ぶ上で一番自分に足りてないものを本研修で見つけることができました。
私にとってそれは、語彙力です。
今、使えるなけなしの語彙で会話はできますし、本当に重要な部分は聞き取ることができます。
ですが、やはり引き出しが少ないので会話に展開が無く、また、単語を聞き取れるのにその意味がわからない事件が多く発生しました。
とはいえ、今使える単語で会話を組み立てるというのも私にとって重要なスキルとして馴染んできました。


15日の夕方にはUCI生と交流をするフリーアクティビティがありました。
やはり大勢で一度に話す場では、なかなか話を切り出せませんが、
積極的に聞いて、回答することへの躊躇はなくなりました！


やはり座学も実践もなおざりにはできませんね…（笑）
研修を通してのまとめは最終回で！
残り約5日、まだ詰めきれてないものしっかり詰めていきます！

ほんの少しではありますが、

5M 東條です。

ブログ更新が遅くなりました。

授業は、相変わらずディスカッションを中心に、進められています。最近は自分の出身地について話すことが多く、改めて自分の住んでる地域のことを調べることも多くなっています。まだまだ聞き取れないことや言葉を見つけるのに苦労することもあります。でも、研修開始次に比べると、ほんの少しではありますが、英語に対する抵抗が少なくなった気がします。

昨日は放課後に大学のスポーツアクティビティにも参加しました。私はテニスを選択しました。久しぶりのテニスで、思うように体が動きませんでしたが、それでもかなり楽しむことが出来ました。ただ、テニスに参加した十数人全員が日本人（明石は自分一人）ということもあり、日本語を使っての日本人同士の交流にとどまってしまったのは、少し残念な気もします。

明日はものすごく早起きする必要があるので今日はこの辺で……

Shohei - seems like I fell in love

Hi, this is Shohei Nishimoto.

Now, here's awesome sunny. It was cold yesterday cause of rain. It seems like I fell in love with here's sunlight & temperature. But my host mother was glad rain fell. Actually I know she's glad, but i absolutely like here's sunny.

It also means I don't want to get back Japan.lol

Today, I joined a free activity that play soccer with people who I don't know. It was fun & great. Then I saw my third Bryan in US. It's too funny, you know? 

This program is certainly going to end. I'm so sad, but I do my best until it complete. 

Day after day, we're going to go to watch the Angels baseball game! It definitely exciting!

今日は授業で自分の生まれ育った町や市の特徴をyoutubeの動画とともに説明するというのをやりました！
ここで気付いた事があって、意外と自分の生まれ育った町や市をちゃんと知らないなという事です。
それを英語で説明するとなると、かなり難しいです。
何も知らない状況の人に物事を説明するためにはまず、そのものを、しっかりと知っていないとダメだという事です。
今まで歴史などを疎かにしてきた人生ですが、そういった歴史や伝統などの重要性を感じた日でした。
発表自体は大体出来て、みんなもある程度理解してくれたみたいなので良かったですが、もっとしっかりと知っていたらもっと説明出来ただろうなと思っています。
日本に帰ったら、英語はもちろん日本の事ももっと勉強したいと思います。

Daichi - Can Technology Change Global Relationships Also from Now?

Hey what's up guys?
This is Daichi.

My host family and me like technology very much, so we often talk about it.
I talked about my research, my part-time job of developing applications for sightseeing and my team for the computer programming competition.
I'm very glad that they said my products are cool.

I research on educational technology, and my almost products are about education especially for languages or about sightseeing.
Yes, they're related to global societies.
I think countries will become relative to each other more and more.
I want to help people live with global relationships by technology.
Technology is changing the world, but it's not enough.
I hope technology keeps changing lives of people live in around the world.

My thinking got bigger and clearer by my experiences in the US.
We need changes for global relationships.

Can technology change global relationships also from now?
There's only one way to find out.

こんにちは〜林です。
現在9月13日10:30pm頃です！
今朝はこの季節には非常に珍しい、雨が降りました！
今回は特別大きな行事は無かったのでダイジェストでお送りしますね。



朝に近場のスーパー「トレーダージョーズ」にお昼ごはんを買いに行きました。
お昼代を浮かしたい時、御用達です！
素敵なパッケージのお菓子も豊富なので、お土産に買いに行こうと思います！

授業ではやはり語学の勉強なので、
Speaking&Listeningクラスは勿論、Reading&Writingクラスも会話形式や発表形式のアクティブラーニングが盛んです。
クラスメートともかなり仲良くなりました！

お昼はBYOランチ(フリーアクティビティの一つ)ということで、アクティビティリーダー(UCIの学生)に日本の留学生、台湾の留学生が集まりました。
お喋りしつつ、ちょっとしたゲームをしたり、若者スラングを少し教えてもらいました。

その後はキリスト教の宣教師の2人と簡単に会話をしました。
以前ホームステイ先でも会話を交わしたのですが、宗教にあまり関心のない私にとっては興味深い内容も多くありました。

家に帰ると丁度晩ごはんでした。
私のホームステイ先にはもう1人留学生、Jindiが居ます。
彼は中国人でとても優しく、英語も流暢です。
あまり会話を交わす機会がなく、なかなか仲良くなれていないので、まだまだ努力も必要です…！

今日の食後は近所を1人で散歩しました。
アメリカの家は思い描いてた通り可愛いデザインで、更にアーバインは敷地も広く芝が多いです。
これぞっていうアメリカの住宅街です（笑）
うさぎがそこら中に居て、なんせ可愛いです。



非常に長文になってしまい、申し訳ありません。
今後の予定を見る限り、このような平凡なアメリカでの日常を送れるのも、今日が最後かもしれません。

さみしい…！

Become chubby

みなさんこんにちは、黒崎です。

　今朝のブログで書いたテストですが…やはり難しかったです。お題は…
「言語の他に、コミュニケーションを取る上であなたが重要視するのはどんなことですか？」
というものでした…

　ジェスチャーや顔の表情のことなど、40秒ほどは喋れたんですが…そこで固まってしまいました。悔しいです。クラスメイトの何人かは本当に上手に話を組み立てていました。
　それどーやって10秒で考えてるねん。
と、何度も思いました。アーバインに来て、意見を言うことの難しさを痛感するばかりです…練習あるのみ、でしょうか。頑張ります。


　話はがらりと変わりますが、今日はMomが外出だったのでSafeと2人で晩ごはんを食べに行きました。Safeおすすめのハンバーガー屋さんにいったんですが、彼のおすすめを頼むと…肉3枚のハンバーガー&山盛りポテト(笑)カロリーが…気にしないことにします。
　日本のアニメ、私生活のこと、彼の家族のこと、僕の家族のことなど、色々な話ができてとても楽しかったです。僕が剣道をしている動画を見せたときの彼の反応が面白かったり…と、とても充実した時間を過ごすことができました！Thank you Safe!!!

　この研修も折り返し…時間が経つのは早いです。少しでも多くのことを吸収できるよう頑張ります。

おはようございます。
5M 東條です。

昨日は特にアクティビティもなく、日曜日のサーフィンで筋肉痛だったので、キャンパス内でのんびりとした1日を過ごしました。

キャンパス内には、図書館が3つあり、その内の一つが"science library"と呼ばれる科学系の本中心の図書館となっています。昨日、私はそこで機械系の雑誌を読みました。
当然英語で書かれているのですが、知らない単語や習った気がするけど思い出せない単語が多く、電子辞書片手に雑誌と格闘していました。やはり、興味のある内容の英文は、読みたいという意欲が出るもので、時間はかかりましたがなんとか面白そうな記事だけは読むことが出来ました。

その後、バスが来るまでキャンパス内にある中庭で休憩。

中庭も広大で、改めてアメリカの広さを感じました。

　今日はカリフォルニアに来て初めての雨です☔

　今日はlistening&speakingクラスでテストがあります。クラスメイト全員違うお題で、1人づつ前に立ってお題を見る→10秒考える→1分話す
というもの…どんな問題が出るかわからず、前もって準備ができないのでつらいです…

　思ったことをその場で英語にする…難しいですが少しでも多く伝えられるように頑張ります…

HAYASHI Kazuki-本研修も折り返しです…！

こんにちは！林です。
今回は少し遅くなりました。現在9月12日(月)の9:00am頃です。

先週末もアクティビティ盛りだくさんで非常に楽しかったです！
オレンジアウトレットにユニバ、サーフィンとどこも興味深い内容でした。
ユニバーサルスタジオハリウッドで、私が大好きなハリーポッターのエリアは日本のエリアと瓜二つでしたが、クルーが多国籍だと、やはり味が出ますね！（笑）

早くも本研修が折り返しを過ぎました。
授業も後5日程、アクティビティも残すはLA野球観戦、LAツアー、ハンティントンのナイトマーケットと残り3つに。
ですが、今週は校内で行われるフリーアクティビティが盛りだくさんです！
フリーアクティビティは週末のアクティビティと比べて、UCIの生徒と話す機会が非常に多いです。
なけなしの英語をふんだんに使って、少しでも多くの会話に挑みたいです！

今週もユニバに行ったり、サーフィンをしたり充実の週末でした。

ユニバのスタジオツアーは建築を学んでる僕にとって、セットの迫力、街の再現度はとてもクオリティーが高くて興味深かったです！

そして、昨日はホストマザーの誕生日でした！
プレゼントでポストカードを渡したのですが、喜んでくれてリビングに飾ってくれていたので、とても嬉しかったです！
夜はみんなで豪華なディナーを食べに行きました！

今日からまた授業なので、今週も授業頑張ります！
最近他国から来ているクラスメイトと昼ごはんにいってお互いの文化をお互い英語で伝えたりして、交流出来ているので、継続していけたらと思っています。

Daichi - Reborn

Hey what's up guys?
This is Daichi.

I had about 2 week in the US.
I feel I'm getting reborn through experiences here even in just 2 week.
I got friendlier and opener than me in the past.

I didn't know even about students are joining to this program from Akashi College very much before this program.
However, we're already good friends and help each other everyday.
We enjoyed Disneyland, Universal Studios, some international activities and surfing together!

Also, I got a lot of new friends from around the world includes Japan.
Although they're different ages, from different countries, have different cultures and different major, we can be friends through English and open minds.

I'll have lunch with Brazilian students in this week.
We'll go to a Japanese restaurant, so I'm going to teach my Brazilian students about Japanese food.
I hope we'll have great time to enjoy lunch and practice English.

The US is large and makes my heart bigger and bigger.
I'm going to keep trying everything hard!

アメリカに来て2回目の週末です。

今日（土曜）は ユニバーサルスタジオ ハリウッドに行きました。

実は私はUSJに一回しか行ったことがありません。しかもその時はほとんどアトラクションに乗れなかったので、今回が実質初めてのユニバーサルスタジオとなります。

USJとは違い、ハリウッドの方はパークの中に実際の映画スタジオがあります。そのためスタジオツアーというアトラクションで映画スタジオ内を見学することも出来ました。

また、日本でもお馴染みのジュラシックパークやハリー・ポッター、USJにはないトランスフォーマーやMummyなど、沢山のアトラクションに初めて乗りました。

明日もビーチに行くので早起きしなければなりません。

スマホでブログを書くのはかなり時間がかかり大変なので、今日はこの辺で締めておきます。

5.9マイル

みなさんこんにちは。黒崎です
今日は日本語で書きます(笑)

　今日はユニバーサル・スタジオ・ハリウッドに行ってきました！広い！楽しい！

　アクティビティガイドのBryanとLuisと一緒にパーク内を回り、英語をしゃべる機会が多くありました。2人ともテンションが高く、とても楽しかったです(笑)


　さて、タイトルにある5.9マイルですが…朝から事件があったんです…。
　
　バスを逃して集合場所まで5.9マイル走りました。

　5.9マイル、キロメートルに直すと9.5kmです。部活を引退して、ここ数日ハンバーガーを食べまくっている僕にとっては地獄でした(笑)朝から全力疾走💦50分かけて集合場所に到着しました。

　出発時間には間に合ったのですが、体力が…足が……
　忘れられない思いでの出来上がりです(笑)

今までにない筋肉痛が足を襲っています…



明日は海でサーフィンです…全力で楽しみます！(笑)

HAYASHI Kazuki-変化したことについて。

こんにちは〜！林です。
今日はオレンジアウトレットに行きました。
やはりアメリカのメーカーは非常に安いです！
その上今でもレイバーデイ割引が続いていたりでお買い得でした。


研修が始まってから10日が過ぎ、自分自身に幾つかの変化を感じています。

英語力の観点から言うと、確実にspeaking&listeningは向上したことを実感しています。
以前ははっきり話してくれていても理解できた内容は20%だとか、重要な部分のみで、
それに加えてYes/Noのような返事しかままならなかったですが、
今では簡単な会話であれば可能になってきました。

また、私が英語できないことに気づかれない環境(飲食店や服飾店)においても、恐れずに質問できる自信がついてきました。
また、少し上達したことで意欲が更に増したようにも思います。
会話を理解したいから、ボキャブラリーを増やしたい。発音を良くしたい。そして会話を続けたい。こういった思いが強くなりました。

その他、生活スタイルや自分の性格など日本に居るだけでは自信が持てなかったり、気付けなかったようなことにも気付くことができました。


実はお風呂に浸かりたすぎて、みんなに嘆く朝がここ数日ありましたが（笑）
お風呂はもう少しおいておいて、英語力上達を目指したいと思います！！

明日はユニバーサルスタジオです！
ディズニーの経験から考えると、英語使う機会が少ない日ですが、
使えるタイミングを見つけて、少しでも多くの英語に触れてきます。

Shohei - participate free actvities

Hi this is Shohei.

I participated two free activities in this week.

One of them, a potluck was hold on Wednesday. We ate some meals, talked, played, and danced with UCI students. Then We gave the students our each Japanese souvenir.

Especially, We were told dancing American style. All of them phenomenally know how to dance with each songs. I think I can't see the situation like this in Japan. 

At the activity, I could be friend with the students who I didn't know. It's great opportunity.

And I joined a chill at the anthill. The anthill is a pub in the UCI. Fortunately I can join it though I didn't sign up for it.because, I think it was free activities. Then we talked with the students and other international students, and play a card game they called Slap. We used trump then. I can't explain detail of slap but it needs speed. Two students who told us slap were so fast to play. I couldn't believe it. One of them told me that she played with her friend when they were children, but I think they earn money to play it. Don't take it serious.

Both of them were very fun and awesome opportunity to be friend with the students.

And all UCI students open their mind for us. 

If you're going to go here, you should go them that you can participate. 

In addition, probably you will be an American dancer.

My Favorite

5M 東條です。

今日も午前中は英語の授業がありました。私のクラスの人数は10人程で、日本人の他に中国、台湾、ブラジル、サウジアラビア出身の人で構成されています。授業は一日に "leading & writing""listening & speaking"の二種類を受けますが、いずれもグループディスカッションが多く、話す機会が多くあります。特にspeakingの授業は、辞書を引くことも許されていません。私自身、英語を話すことに苦手意識があるのですが、授業では、周りの人も同じような英語のレベルなので、互いに身振りや簡単な英語を使って積極的に会話出来、楽しく授業を受けています。

少し前の話になりますが、こんなものも買いました。

これはUCIの売店にあった 機械工学（Engineering）の公式集です。
この他にも、経済学や日本語など、様々な科目がありました。

写真の公式集には、力学の基礎（エネルギー保存則など）の他に、材料力学（モールの応力円とか）や流体力学（マノメータとか）など、役立つ公式がたくさんあり、暇なときに楽しく読んでいます。
知らない公式も多く、英語の勉強をしながら専門知識も身につけられる一石二鳥なアイテムとして気に入っています。

Takumi Fujioka/Paper cranes

ホストファミリーは僕にアメリカの文化や食事について色々と教えてくれるのに加えて、彼らは日本の文化や食事についてもかなり興味を持ってくれています。

その１つとして、僕はお土産として折り紙を持って行ったのですが、昨日その折り紙で鶴を折ってあげました！

彼らは折り紙の鶴の話は以前に聞いた事があったようですが、実際に作っているのを見たのは初めてだったらしく、とても喜んでいました。

また、千羽鶴についても説明すると、とてもいい文化だねと言って、日本の文化をリスペクトしていました。

文化や習慣をリスペクトしてもらえるのは嬉しいことですね！

昨日はあまり時間がなかったので、また時間がある時にでも作り方を教えれたらと思っています。

HAYASHI Kazuki-建築関係について少々！

こんにちは！林です。
私、これでも建築学科なので、今回は少し建築関係で面白いなと思った点について連ねます（笑）

まずは土足の文化について。

アメリカでの屋内は下足で居続けると思っていましたが、私のホームステイ先では家に居る間は基本的に靴を脱ぎます。
ですが、訪問者やまた直ぐに外出する場合は履いたままです。

この混合には、はじめ少し抵抗がありましたが、それでもアメリカの屋内の床は結構キレイです！不思議！

次に点在する休憩スペースについて。

UCI校内のみで見ても、休憩したりお話できたりするような屋外常設の椅子と机が沢山あります。
そして、良く使われています。

アーバインの気候は非常に乾燥しており、今の時期は雨が降りません。
その為に日向は暑いですが、日陰は涼しいです。
風も適度にあるので、場合によっては屋外の方が心地良いです。
屋外の休憩スペースの使用率が高く、かつ使用したいと思うこの気持ちこそが、日本との違いですよね。

少し憧れていた、屋外でのブレイクタイムや、屋外テラスでのランチなんかも出来ちゃいます！

最後に最も腑に落ちた機能について。

アメリカの住宅は、日本に比べ局部照明が多く使われる文化です。
そして、私がホームステイさせてもらっている部屋はコンセントの機能の仕方が面白いです。

部屋入り口の近くにあるスイッチを切り替えると部屋の電気が点きます。はじめはなんの違和感も感じていませんでしたが、よくよく考えると全て局部照明なのでコンセントに繋がっています。

要は部屋入り口付近のスイッチを切り替えると、コンセントに電気が流れるのです。
もちろん常に流れている箇所もあります。
逆にスイッチを入れてる間は流れずに、オフにした時に小さい照明用のコンセントが機能しているケースもあります。
これは全般照明が主流の日本には無い、面白い点だなと思いました。



折角の機会なので、語学や文化だけでなく、建築に関することについても吸収できたらなと思います！

Daichi - How to Enjoy English

Hey what's up guys?
This is Daichi.

I'm talking about how to enjoy English in this post.

Reading in English
I've started to read Harry Potter's latest book in English.
It's coming November in Japan, so I'm trying to finish reading it until then.

Reading and watching movies in English is very good to study English.

We should touch English in every case more and more to learn it.

BUT DON'T FORGET TO ENJOY IT.

Choose your favorite one, and just enjoy it without too much thinking.

I think that's a key to learn English.

Chatting

Chatting with foreign people and even Japanese people is really nice to improve your English abilities.

Many people like to chat with their friends or families and they do it everyday.

You can get know about many countries and their cultures by English.

You see a new world you didn't know if you try to use English.

I have classmates from Brazil, Korea, China, Colombia, Turkey and Saudi Arabia!

I chat with them even when it's not class time. Because it's just fun!

Don't be shy and afraid of making mistakes.

Just try it. You can change yourself and your world.
The more you use English, the better you like it.

If you use English with this thinking, you may succeed in it!

Why & detail

Hello everyone! This is Yusuke.

     l have enough time today. That's why l'm challenging to write my weblog in English!!

What I want to say in this Blog is…

   "To study English in English is very enjoyable."

     I have two classes. One is Reading&Writing Class and the other is Speaking&Listening Class. Both classes make much account of speaking English.  To explain new vocabulary or grammar in English is difficult for me. In Japan, I've never done this kind of exercise. So, l'm struggling to do that everyday. 　
   
     We also focus on telling "why"&"detail". My teacher always says "Why do you think so?" 
     Build up the Logic……
         1, To say my opinion
         2, To explain what l mean
         3, make sure
     To say my opinion is very easy. Just say it. But, explaining it in English is very very hard. To convince my teacher and classmate is really difficult!! This exercise, to persuade someone who has a different opinion, is what I have to do many times over!!!!

  Anyway, now I'm placing myself in a hard circumstance!! And having a significant time!!!

I'll internalize a lot of things and return to Japan in two weeks!!!!!

Shohei - My first hamburger in US

Hi it's Shohei.

I went to Laguna beach on Monday holiday.

Please check my Facebook page out if you want to see.

And, I went to fashion island yesterday.

There are a lot of shops little bit expensive for me, but i bought a T-shirt of Nike. It's cool.

And I ate my first hamburger in US at Jack in a box. it was like

It tasted meat more strong than Japanese one.

Great.

And I recognised that french fries always be like Sakusaku every shop. Crispy? Crunchy? I don't know how to say, but exactly I like it.

At tonight dinner table, I told them to my host family, then Mel was told me that she prefer IN-N-OUT to jack in a box, Mc and other hamburger shop. Because IN's one is more flesh than other one, peal and cut potatoes in the shop, and fry. And hamburger which supply on the shop do same like do potatoes.

I want to go there onetime.

Also Mel recommended me to eat 'Poki'.

I can't explain what is it well but she said like ''You should go, DEFINITELY awesome.''

I definitely can enjoy to live here more and more.

アメリカの硬貨

5M 東條です。

アメリカに来て早くも1週間が経過しました。相変わらず授業では、speakingやhearingで苦労していますが、先生やクラスメートに言葉の意味などを聞きながらなんとかやってます。

普段の生活では、いまだにアメリカの硬貨に慣れません。

これはアメリカの硬貨です。左から1￠、5￠、10￠、25￠です。
第一の問題点は、硬貨の価値の表示方法です。日本の硬貨のように大きくアラビア数字が書かれているのではなく、小さい文字で"one cent""five cents""one dime""quarter dollar"とだけ書かれており、金額が分かりづらいです。特に個人的にはone dime（=10￠） の意味が最初分からず、なかなか使えませんでした。さらに、同じ価値の硬貨でも、絵柄が数通りあり、判別をややこしくさせています。
通常は色や大きさで判別するそうですが、特に5￠と25￠の区別が難しく、まだまだ慣れが必要なようです。

第二の問題に25￠玉の存在があります。この硬貨は、日本でいう100円玉のようによく使われています。しかし、慣れていないせいか現金で買い物をする際、釣り銭を出来るだけ少なくするための計算がややこしくなり、何度か失敗もしました。

他にも慣れないことは多いですが、残りの2週間も変わらず頑張ります。

Takumi Fujioka/Labor day

今日はアメリカはLabor dayという日で日本でいう勤労感謝の日？みたいな感じで月曜ですが、休日でした！

ということで、ファミリーとともに近くのプールに行って来ました！
そして、そこにはBBQ設備やテニスコートがあって、ファミリーの友達約20人ほどとBBQをしてきました！

マザーは友達に会うとすぐに僕の事を紹介してくれるので、色々な人と話す機会があってとても充実した日々を過ごしています。

そして、今日感じたのはアメリカ人は「会話」というものをとても大事にしているということです。
日本ではSNSの普及などにより、友達といても携帯を触っている光景をよく見かけます。
しかし、アメリカ来てから今日も含めその光景は少ないように僕は感じています。
改めて「会話」の大事さを気付かされた日でした。

明日からまた学校です！
授業頑張ります^ ^

Relaxed for the whole day

こんにちは、黒崎です。

　アメリカに来てから初の、なにもない1日を過ごしました(笑) 朝起きて洗濯をして、宿題をして、日本にいる友人と久しぶりにゆっくり話をしてと、のんびりした1日です(笑)

　夕食の後はいつものようにMomとSafe(カタールからの留学生)と3人で話をしました。この時間が最近はとても好きです。出会って1週間の人たちとこんなに話せるなんて…ホームステイっていいなと思います。

　明日からまた学校です。Advanced Classの人たちはとてもよくしゃべるので負けないように頑張ります！積極的にしゃべって、力をつけたいです。

HAYASHI Kazuki-Today is the Labor Day !

こんにちは！林です。
今日はLabor Day、労働者の為の日です。
いわゆる勤労感謝の日みたいなものですかね…！

ところで先日お話ししました、金欠な件についてお話ししたいと思います。
お金の話なので少しやらしいです（笑）
私は17万円を換金して($1,626.00)カードを持たずに渡米しました。
もちろんそこから滞在費、デポジットなど必要費用を出します。
具体的には、滞在費、デポジット、教材、プリペイドフォン、アクティビティ、バスのフリーパスなど…
アクティビティは折角の経験と思いほぼ全部サインアップしました。
すると、9月1日の終わりにはなんと残り$112.01…まさにOh my goodness !!

しばらく昼食や外での夕食を少し節約し、ディズニーではお土産を買いませんでした…
そして今日、ホストマザーの娘さんに換金所を見つけてもらえ、なんとか回復です。
お金がなくても楽しめますが、お金があったら尚楽しめます！
余ることには問題ないですし！
今後UCI研修に参加する学生は、参考にどうぞ（笑）

そして今日はアーバインで有名なスペクトラムセンターというショッピングセンターに行きました！
レイバーデイということで、ほとんど値引き！また日本では輸入品となるアメリカンメーカーは、やはり安く買い求めできます！

最高の三連休でした。明日から学校ですが、そちらもまた楽しみです！

Shohei - visited Huntingtong beach

Hey guys, it's Shohei Nishimoto.

We visited to Huntingtong beach yesterday.
There're a lot of fascinating things just like unbelievable sky, too long distance beach & ocean, a lot of people, huge wave, huge center bridge, many net for playing volleyball & I can swim so far.



While we in the sea, an orange coat man came and may said us like
''Go to the beach! Get out fast!''
cause of some too dangerous waves which just over my hight came.

Good, This is american size.

And, at the noon, we went to a hamburger shop for lunch which Jayson who leads us in there recommended to us.
The shop supplies waffle hamburger, of course I haven't ever seen.



I think the employees of this shop don't think about how customers to eat.

Great, This is America.

And I found nice shoes at an outlet of shop near the beach. It's gray one and 70 dollars, and it was discounted of 40% off cause of outlet. I will buy it if it remains when I go to the beach again.

In addition, I saw a surprise propose on the beach. It's my twice time in CA, the first time was in DL. Everyone stared at it & celebrated. happy day.

Daichi - Just Keep Using English

Hey what's up guys?
This is Daichi.

After arriving in the US, we had many great experiences: having homestay, joining an international festival and visiting Disneyland and Huntington Beach.

Also we will have much more great experiences.
In all experiences, we have to use English to enjoy them.

So we study English and use it everyday in every case!
That's the best way to improve our English abilities.

Let's try everything more and more to get reborn!
Our training has just begun!

渡米後 初の週末

5M 東條です。

今週末は、たくさんのイベントがあり、かなり疲れました。金曜日にはstreet fair, 土曜日にはディズニーランドに行きました。カリフォルニアのディズニーは、どのアトラクションも比較的待ち時間が短く、一日でいろいろなものを体験出来ました。

そして今日（このblogを書いている間に昨日になりましたが）、私たちは、カリフォルニアのビーチを訪れました。

私は海には入っていませんが、ショッピングやレンタル自転車を借りてのサイクリングを楽しみました。

サイクリングでは、自転車を借りたものの、店を出るところでブレーキがペダルを逆回転させることで作動させるタイプだということに気づき、焦りました。日本にこのタイプの自転車はあまりないらしく、自分も初めて乗ったので、慣れるまでかなり怖かったです。

一週間後にもここにくる予定なので、その時は海に入りたいと思います。

明日（今となっては今日）、アメリカは祝日（勤労感謝の日?）です。

まだ週末が続きますが、しっかり楽しみたいと思います。

Takumi Fujioka/食事の前に…

お久しぶりです。
昨日はディズニーランドに行って来ました。
でも、先に林が触れたので他の話をします。

僕がホームステイをさせていただいている家では、食事の前に家族全員で目をつぶってDadが10秒〜15秒感謝の言葉を述べてからご飯を食べます。
それはご飯を食べれることや大統領、神様への感謝の言葉です。
日本では、当たり前のようにご飯が出てきて、食べていましたが、改めて食べ物というものに感謝するということの大事さを感じた場面でした。

ちなみにこれは初日食べたご飯です！
アメリカンな食事でとても美味しかったです。

Disneylandに行きました！

おはようございます。黒崎です

　昨日はディズニーから帰ってくると日付が変わっており…家に帰るとすぐ寝てしまいました(笑)今は朝の8:00を過ぎた頃です。

　英語を使う機会ないやろなーと思っていましたが、お昼ご飯を買うのに一苦労…

Which would you like, French fries or Fresh fruits?

これが全く聞けませんでした

ハンバーガーを買うときにポテトかフルーツか選べたのですが、メニューをしっかり読んでおらず…(笑) French fries or Freash fruitsが

　　　　　ふぇふぁふぉふぇふぅ？

みたいな感じで聞こえて、3回ぐらい言ってもらってやっと分かりました(笑)言うの早すぎです…listening頑張ります！

　このままだと遊んだ報告しかないので少し学校の話を…

　HWが出ました…内容は

英語のテレビを2時間見てその内容・面白かったところ・新しく知った単語やフレーズを書く

というもの。難しすぎです(笑)

しっかりこなして、力をつけたいです

HAYASHI Kazuki-ディズニーランド！

こんにちは！林です。
今日はカリフォルニアのアナハイムにあるディズニーランドに行ってきました〜！
今夜は帰ってくるのが遅く、現在アーバインは01:34amです。

カリフォルニアのディズニーはもちろん、海外のディズニーランドに初挑戦でした。
一番最高だったのは、カリフォルニアアドベンチャーパークのワールドオブカラーです！
ワンスアポンアタイムとはまた違ったド迫力のプロジェクションマッピングで、演出もかっこよく、感動しました。

夢の国とは不思議なもので、アウェイ(異国の地)なのにホーム(故郷のような安心感)を感じられます。（笑）
クルーだけでなく、訪れる多国籍な人たちもまるで友だちの様な錯覚を起こしていました。

実はこの姿勢が、今の自分に欠けていたのでは無いかと思います。
言葉を上手く伝えられないことは、人と楽しく時間を共有することには意外と関係がないです。
Don't be shyと何度も言われましたが、まさにその通りで、言葉に引け目を感じる必要はやはりなかった様です！

明日はハンティントンビーチ！
shyにならずに話しかけることを心掛けます！

Shohei - Temperature of California

Hi, this is Shohei Nishimoto.

I has surprised at California since I come here.
It's toooo dry, no water. (People who live in CA call moisture, water.)
My skin has been dry. Paripariyawa in Japanese.

And, I feel while spend on here, simply under the sun light is warm, shade is cool or cold. Very simple.

Therefore, I thought that Japanese traditional architecture, just like sukiya, may be more comfortable in here than in Japan only about the temperature.
Because cool window blow to inside in summer, shade of building is always more comfortable than Japan, due not to have water.

In addition, I was heard something about the temperature of California from a man who lives California & he took us up at LA airport.
Following he said, CA has not been rain since Jun.

What?

And he said it may be rain in November.

Wow.

CA doesn't be rain on summer time, it's too long.

No rain environment & continuing good temperature days may make friendly and optimistic people like people who lives in here.

眠たい...

5M 東條です。
思った以上にやることが多く、時差ぼけとは関係なく寝不足気味です。

授業が始まって２日がたちました。普段の生活でもそうですが、やはりspeakingとlisteningが苦手で苦労しています。特にspeakingでは、よい動詞がなかなか思い付かず、give , have , takeを多用しながらなんとかやっています。

今日はstreet fairというカリフォルニアの夏祭りのようなイベントに参加しました。たくさんの屋台があり、いくつかのステージで音楽ライヴを行っていました。さまざまな物を食べましたが、そのなかでも印象に残っているのが寿司（いなり寿司とカリフォルニアロール）です。日本の寿司とどれくらい味に差があるのか気になって食べました。いなり寿司は日本のものとほぼ同じ味でした。カリフォルニアロールは、かにかまぼこ とアボカドなどの野菜が入った手巻き寿司でしたが、悪くはないもののhealthy foodを食べている感のある味でした。
また、米は餅米を炊いたような食感でした。

このイベントは、普段商店街になっているところを封鎖して行われているのですが、店にはレストランや本屋の他に本物の銃を売っている店も普通にあり、かなり驚きました。

明日はディズニーランドに行ってきます。
つい2週間ほど前に日本のディズニーに行ったばかりですが、日本とアメリカの違いにも注目しつつ、楽しみたいと思います。

Takumi Fujioka/3日目になりました。

ブログ更新遅くなってすいません。
昨日書いてる途中で寝落ちしてました。

こっちに来て3日が経ちましたが初めはホストファミリーとの会話も緊張して、あまり返せてなかったですが、今では自分から色々質問出来るようになってきて、少し成長しました。

これもこっちに来て学んだ事で、今日から授業が始まりましたが、他国の学生達は分からない事があれば、先生が説明中でもすぐに質問します。そして、先生も嬉しそうに答えています。この姿勢は日本ではあまり見ないので、とても刺激になります！
なので、僕も積極的に疑問を解消しようと、ホストファミリーにも先生にも色々と質問しようと思います！
そして、3週間という短い時間で少しでも多くの事を学んで日本に帰りたいなと思います！

あ、そろそろ学校の最寄りのバス停に着くのでこの辺で！
学校行ってきます〜！！

ロサンゼルスに着いてから3日が経ちました！

おはようございます
今回が初めての投稿になります、黒崎です。

　日本との時差が16時間…まだ慣れません(笑)
生活リズムがこちらの時間に合っておらず、超早寝早起きの生活です…ホストマザーにはそろそろ慣れるよと言われているので頑張ります。

　僕のホームステイ先にはホストマザーともう1人、カタールからの留学生がいます。最初聞いたときは話せるか不安でしたが、いざ会ってみるととてもフレンドリーで英語も堪能…毎日英語の特訓をしてもらっています。彼はとても日本のアニメに詳しくて最初話題に困ると思っていましたがすぐ打ち解けることができました。Japanese Anime に感謝です(笑) 普段の生活や日本の文化を説明するのがこんなにも難しいとは思っていませんでした…でも、全く知らない国の文化を知るのはとても楽しいです！

　家では基本リビングにいて、3人でテレビを見ながら話をしています。頻繁に2人の会話に置いていかれて…Hey,stop stop! Please speak more slowly!!!と会話を止めることもしばしば…
　僕が話をしているときは2人ともじっくり聞いてくれます(笑) ありがたい… 　
　このスピードに少しでもついていけるよう、頑張りたいです！

昨日placement testがあり今日からクラスに分かれての授業です。今日は簡単なガイダンスだけだったので、授業の模様はまた今度紹介したいと思います。

HAYASHI Kazuki-研修が始まって3日目、授業が始まりました！

こんにちは！UCI研修始まってから3日目が終わろうとしています。
今、アーバインは9月1日23時過ぎです。

初日・翌日はずっとバタバタしてまして、おそらくジェットラグによる強力な眠気にも襲われました。

はじめは本当に英語が聞き取れなくて、会話に挑戦することすらままならない状態でした。今でも聞き取れないですが、関わってくれている人たちは皆んな本当に優しくて、丁寧に何度でも説明をしてくれます。
英語を聞くことにようやく耳が慣れてきて、簡単なところでいうとI'm okayやExcuse meなどの言葉が反射的に出せるようになってきました。

またホストファミリー同士のつながりが結構あって、別のホームステイを受け入れている家の人と食事を取ったりなど、ネイティヴ意外の人とも会う機会が非常に多いです！
そのために早くも、ラインなどのSNSで英語を使ったコミュニケーションをとっている自分に、我ながら驚いています（笑）

今日からクラスごとに授業が始まりました。
私はCクラスでランクとしては易しめのクラスですが、近しい英語力の異国の人たちとも会話ができて、お互い頑張りながら話すっていう環境が非常に心地よかったです！

研修開始から3日目、ホストファミリーやその親戚、友達、クラスメイトとの会話に楽しさを感じ出しました。
明日はOrange International Street Fairに行くので一層楽しみです！！

Shohei Nishimoto - Now I feel I can make an effort more.

Hi, this is Shohei Nishimoto belonging to 5A.

it's 5:21am now. I had woke up at 4 o'clock cause of jet lag.

Now, I feel very interesting in everything of here, in other words 'Culture shock'.
Everything is huge from freeway even a normal cup.

First day of homestay, I felt that how clumsiness my English skill is. I have felt down still now and itll continue to the last day. Therefore I decided to make an effort in here, I'm very looking forward to taking class of UCI.

And, I was taught ''slang'' by support students of UCI, who look around the school with us & Mel, who is my host family and 19 years old, at the different time in the same day by chance yesterday.
Slangs are just like ''What's up'', ''Hey DUDE'', and so on, they're used among young people in US. And there're difference between East and West of US.

Especially interest one is ''Suh dude''.

I heard from Mel that this is only used among CA young people she said. It means ''What's up friends''. If you want the detail why it means, i hope you  hear me directly. Promise you laugh.

So many things there are I want to write down on here. I'm full of funny & interesting things.

But I think too long passage is too bore.

But one thing I should say is this program is worth to participate.

Daichi - UCI Program 2016 started!

Hey what's up guys?
I'm Daichi.

We had a placement test and an orientation in UCI(University of California, Irvine) today.
UCI is really large for us, so we were almost lost in there university haha.

Anyway, we signed up to UCI activities(e.g. Disneyland, Universal Studios and  LA Tour).
Here is a picture of our schedule in UCI.

This makes me so excited!

Class will start from tomorrow. It should be going to be so exciting!

ホームステイ はじめました

5M東條です。
アメリカに来て、2日目の晩を迎えました。

今回が自分にとって初めての海外です。初日は、かなり緊張していて言葉もよく通じないことがありましたが、徐々に理解できるようになって、今はホームステイをかなり満喫できています。

今日は、UCIにてオリエンテーションとテストを行いました。
キャンパスはとても広く、ごく一部しか散策していませんが、中庭や売店の広さ、あらゆる物のデカさに驚くばかりでした。

アメリカのバスにも初めて乗りましたが、バス停の間隔が狭いので、降車したい駅の名前をアナウンスしてくれず、降車合図を出すタイミングをはかるのに苦労しました。

地味ですが、個人的に少し興味深かったのは、エアコンです。
こちらがそのリモコンです↓

初めてこれを見たとき、設定温度の高さに驚きました。実際には温度の単位が華氏表示になっています。
どうでもいいことですが、
華氏表示の方が１度当たりの温度差が小さいので、こちらのエアコンの方が細かい温度調節が出来るんだと思いました。

研修にはデジタルカメラを持参しており、機材の関係上あまり写真をブログに載せることができませんが、その点はご容赦ください。
それでは、これから3週間頑張ります。
