Today's class & CP Meeting

Hello!! I’m Yuto Nakashima (5E).

I’m trying to write a blog in English.  This is the first time, so please don’t be hard on me.

・ESL-Class

 Today’s topic was “food”.  First, we showed a photo of the food we had never eaten to each other.  And we explained the food－”When did you eat it?”, “How was it?”, and so on.  My photo was as follows:

This is Mexican food, taco.  I ate it yesterday at a fast-food restaurant named taco bell .  It didn’t taste bad.  But according to a Mexican, it isn’t same to an original.  So an original probably tastes better than it.  I want to eat originals!

 And then, we learned some cooking terms, such as dice, peel, stir, simmer and season.

We explained some recipes using these words.  But I cannot cook, so Mitsuhiro helped me.  It was a big help.  Thank you, Mitsu!

 Finally, we discussed some differences between Japanese meal and American meal.  For instance, type of food, utensils and manners.

 I thought today’s class was very important to understand the different culture because meals play an important role in everyday life.

・CP Meeting

 CP Meeting started today. CP Meeting is the program in which we talk with UCI students in lunch time.  We enjoyed it at a famous hamburger shop, In-N-Out Burger.  These are photos in CP Meeting:

 I talked in English more than ever.  In next time, I’ll talk more than today!  I have to keep this in mind－“ Don’t Be Shy!! ”.

Optional Soccer will be held tomorrow!  How many people will come to the field?  I’m looking forward to it!!
